amsatlogoAMSAT INDIA was formed in the 2001 by like minded Radio Amateurs who had the vision to develop and sustain the Indian Amateur Radio satellite programme. The breakthrough came on May 5th 2005 when the first Indian Amateur Radio satellite “HAMSAT” was launched by Indian space research organization. HAMSAT was ISRO’s gift to the worldwide Amateur Radio fraternity. The Satellite has performed extremely well in its life time and was a very popular satellite used by the amateur radio fraternity world wide. HAMSAT – VO-52 stopped working after 49,675 on July 11th 2014 due to the failure of on-board lithium ion batteries. More information can be found at

I am also the Secretary of AMSAT INDIA and actively involved in the affairs of the organization.
